This fabulous old store display standing dress form from a midwest estate is a size 34 by 25 by 35 and has an insanely heavy (42 pounds) cast iron ball and clawfoot base that is 13 in diameter at the feet. It is in gently used, clean condition with a little wear to the composition form as shown. The turnkey has been soldered to the pole, so there is no adjustable height option. When the wire just rests on the base as pictured, the total height is 61. While researching online, i was able to find only one other example of the same form offered for a much higher price. That site dated this form to the 1800s, but it seems more like a victorian revival piece, perhaps dating to around the 1950s or 60s.
Exceptional quality and a wonderful display. Must be picked up due to weight and size. We are located in le claire, iowa, which is where interstate 80 crosses the mississippi river from iowa into illinois. This item is made of composition and cast iron, wire. The style is mid century and retro.
