This is the most adorable petit mannequin dating from the "french vichy fabric era", years 1950-60. The trend for vichy fabric was started by the french actress and sex-symbol brigitte badot aka bb for her wedding in 1959.

The parisian couturier jacques esterel created for her a lovely pink vichy wedding dress with a very wide petticoat. She is known in the usa thanks to the film "and god created woman" (1956 issued then 1988 in the states) that catapulted her to the status of international sex icon. After bb marriage in 1959, at the beginning of 1960's years, every french girl wanted to have a dress, a petticoat, a blouse in vichy check fabric, preferably in pink with white broderie anglaise or croquet edging. Lined with small size square patterned red and white vichy textile, this child mannequin has the typical 50's beech tripod stand and finial and has a lovely red croquet edging/detailing around neck. It is adjustable in height and measures 51.18" to 59.05" h (130cm/150cm h), the bust alone is 24.40" h (62cm) from neck to bottom x 11.41" shoulder width (29cm largeur épaules).
