The Circus Painted Torso Decorated Mannequin

This is a unique piece of artwork and craft, which started life as a plain plastic mannequin. It has several layers of acrylic paint, lots of sequins individually glued, and pieces of felt applied over the sequins to help create the "big top tent" effect. The lion, the stars, and the black and white checks were all painted freehand in acrylic paint and with acrylic markers. The back of the "corset" was created using red velvet ribbon with a gold trim, and gold braid to finish. This really is a striking piece, which would look fantastic as a centrepiece or as a quirky addition to any room in the home.

I love painting mannequins, they are so much fun to do and the only limit is my imagination. I always start the process by sketching out a rough design in my notebook, and letting the ideas build.

I have an idea in my head of what i want to achieve, but sometimes it evolves into something slightly different once the paint starts going on. I love anything to do with the circus, the colour, the atmosphere and the magical nature of it, and i hope that shows in this piece of artwork. This mannequin stands at approximately 80cm tall, and 40cm wide, and is lightweight.

It stands by itself, so there is no need for a stand. It really is a stunning talking point for your home.
