Vintage Adel Rootstein model BB9 Mannequin Head, 1980s Real Size with Black Lace Vintage Hat

Stunning collectible adel rootstein vintage model mannequin head, circa 1980s. She started making mannequins in the kitchen of her basement flat in earls court in 1956. She first hired sculptor john taylor and model imogen for her first mannequin, placed in a reclining position.

This was the start of her first collection, called "gogo". Her sources of inspiration expanded to music and clubs. Adel rootstein has been called the "rolls-royce" of mannequin makers, and later used well-known singers and actresses as models for her mannequins; cher, joan collins and twiggy among them.

The head is made of fiberglass. Head size 55 cm / 21.6. Head height 19 cm/ 7.5.

Good condition except the upper part of the right ear which is broken. Some scratches small painting missings, not important, all is visible on the pictures. The base of his neck is missing. Perfect for decor or hat display. New to etsy you will find help here.
